  • Rethinking What’s Possible

    Most operators stop at one life. Some manage two. Tripod Crest now runs a controlled, four-stage lifecycle on its HGV tyres aligned with Michelin’s manufacturer guidelines and backed by a full casing-tracking system.

    The lifecycle includes:

    1. New tyre
    2. First regroove at approved tread depth
    3. Remould using original casing via virtual bank
    4. Second regroove
    5. End-of-life repurposing for use in non-road products like playground surfaces

    It’s tyre use from start to second-life to second-use, with zero waste to landfill.

  • What Sparked the Shift?

    The change was driven by a deeper operational review. After an internal workshop discussion highlighted casing value, Tripod Crest entered detailed talks with Michelin about their casing ‘bank’ system, a virtual stock of tyres eligible for safe remoulding.

    What began as a routine check became a wider rethink on tyre policy.

    The strategy was rolled out across the our STGO HGV fleet, supported by Michelin’s recommendations and Tripod Crest’s own maintenance and inspection protocols.

    All tyres remain compliant with the Traffic Commissioner’s guidelines, which are updated every five years and followed rigorously.
